One of Jack's favorite toys from his birthday is the CAT Mega Blocks dump truck...Troy also enjoys this toy as well! Everyday Troy spends time methodically building some type of tall structure and then watches to see how quickly Jack can destroy it! The one pictured below was a particularly tall one from this week and Jack had a ton of fun taking it down!
Thursday night we were invited over to our friend's, the Campbell's, for a birthday dinner. Their son James was born the same day as Jack last year. They were kind enough to include Jack in the birthday celebration and split the "smash cake" so both boys could have fun getting messy! It's been so fun to get to know them and for Jack to have a little playmate who is right at the same stage he is!
Friday, Jack and I headed to his 1 year doctor appointment. We found out he is 19 lbs, 6 oz...still in the 10th percentile but this time the doctor accepted it and isn't making us come back in for a weight check - woohoo! He is also still the 75th percentile for height coming in at 30 1/4 inches. He had three shots, which he didn't care for and cried a bit but after that was fine the rest of the day...spunky little Jack!
Saturday we carved our first pumpkin together...both as a married couple and as a family and decided it had to be a new tradition! Jack had a lot of fun watching and playing with the "guts" of the pumpkin! He also loved giving the pumpkin hugs and kisses afterwards...super cute! Another tradition Troy and I have is to make an apple pie at least once each fall. Saturday night we let Jack have his first taste of apple pie and ice cream and wow, I thought the kid was going to jump out of his skin with excitement! I've NEVER seen him enjoy anything as much as he enjoyed that special treat!
Sunday we dressed Jack up in his Spiderman costume one last time and headed out to a local store that was having a Halloween party/Halloween story and music time. He really enjoyed it and after we got home we attempted to take a few photos of him and his pumpkin again but all he really wanted to do was stick his hand in the pumpkin and feel for any lasting slime that I hadn't removed from the day before! Oh Jack! Life is always amusing with you around! :-)
Enjoy the pictures!
Troy's creation before Jack got to it...
Here he goes...
Pool time! Yes, that's the same turtle he always puts in his mouth at bathtime...
